I’ve created a piece portraying a key Grand Prix in the history of Scuderia Ferrari – their 1000th race. To celebrate the historical significance, Ferrari ran a one-off livery for the occasion in 2020.

The special colour scheme was created to match the livery used by Ferrari, on its 125S, in their very first F1 race at the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix. The dark maroon and simplistic white driver number was a beautiful design and one that stood out particularly well when raced in the late Italian summer sunlight.
The race was also special as it took place at Mugello, the only time Formula One has raced at the historic circuit. The race was named the Tuscan GP and was organised with very short notice due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Although the SF1000GP car was not competitive that year, the combination of the special livery and track made this Ferrari iconic. This is the reason why I have so many years wanted to paint this piece, and I hope it can be celebrated by the Ferrari fans around the world.
